"Boating Season 2026 is Fast Approaching!"

President Dave's Blog Update - March 11, 2026

Hello Slip Owners and Renters,

The boating season is fast approaching. Despite our best efforts, we did see some shifting of the docks and some pylon damage due to typical ice/thaw cycles. We will be assessing and making repairs in the coming weeks. The movement was fairly minimal and should not affect opening. Our new docks held up much better than some other Lake Michigan marinas.  Please keep in mind that the water levels are very low right now and please check with us if you have any concerns. Electric and water will be turned on in early April depending on the weather.  We will update everybody as we get closer. Garbage service will also resume mid April. Feel free to contact me if you are planning an early launch for service updates. Please remember to visit our new website (lstmarina.com )

Reminder that shower lockers are available to owners and renters for a refundable $25.00 deposit per locker.

Reminder that the gate code to the west parking deck is currently XXXX (call Davel)!.   This code will no longer work to open the Marina gate and you will need to use your fob.  Please meet and escort guests to your boat. Your fobs and remotes will continue to work and open the gate with no changes.

We will continue to leave the dock carts unlocked but please make sure to use the bungee cords to secure. They will blow into the lake if unsecured.

Thank you to everyone who has submitted your proof of insurance. Please remember that this is a requirement before you occupy any slip. Many policies have expired over the winter or are about to expire.  If you are unsure please email me individually.

Our annual slip owners meeting will be held Saturday June 13, 2026 @10:00 am in the large party room at Lakeshore Towers. There will be one open position on the Board of Directors so please let us know if you have interest in getting on the ballot.  We will again have a kickoff luncheon following on the docks. Lunch is open to all owners, renters and guests. PLEASE SAVE THE DATE

Thank You,

Your LST Marina Board of Directors

LakeShore Towers Marina opening covered by Marina World on Tuesday 10 June 2025!

Meeco Sullivan Press Release About LakeShore Towers Marina in Racine, WI - June 2025!

"We are OPEN for Business!"

President Dave's Blog Update - May 21, 2025

Good Afternoon Boaters,

We are now fully open for business. We passed our final electrical inspection this afternoon and the power is now on. Please keep a few important items in mind as you bring your boats in:

The electrical system is much different today than it was when our original marina was built in 1989. Older or damaged power cords and adapters among other things may very easily trip the circuit breakers. Please notify us if you are having issues so that we can work with you to track down the cause.

These docks are built completely different than the old docks. New codes require many additional items such as fire extinguishers and additional fire stanchions to be placed in specific areas.  There will be a learning curve for all of us as far as placing other personal items on the docks and how best to secure them.  Please remember that our by-laws require approval by the board of directors for any alterations. Please ask for permission, not forgiveness.

Proof of insurance is required before occupancy. Thank you to all of you who have submitted your insurance.

We hope to have the internet up and running by the weekend. I will send out the details when available.

There is still work to be performed so please be aware of workers on the docks.

Thank you to our contractors who worked through some adverse conditions to complete this project on time.

Racine County (Staging for Demo & Install)

McMillen & Pitz Construction (Demolition)

Meeco Sullivan Docks(Dock and gangway construction)

TWR Dock and Marine (Dock assembly and Installation)

We should all be very proud of our new marina. A special thank you to the board members who put in the time and effort to make this a success.

"We are on the FINAL Stretch!"

President Dave's Blog Update - May 9, 2025

Greetings Boaters,

We are in the final stretch of preparation for full opening.  This morning we passed inspection on our fire suppression systems. This was the result of an unexpectedly quick response from the city to our request for inspection and also allows us to now occupy the slips. We are opening up the main North dock at this time with the understanding that we are still working on many final details as well as electric. The water is on but has not yet passed inspection and therefore please do not hook up any hoses. We anticipate the electrical work to be completed towards the end of next week but must also pass inspection and therefore electric service is not available.  Please understand that these are our best estimates and there is always the possibility of delays.  We are doing our best to accommodate those of you waiting to bring your boats in. The South Dock (Slips 1-19) will remain closed until completion but please contact me if you would like to put your boat in and we will assign a spot on the main dock.

Thank you to everyone who has submitted your proof of insurance. Please remember that this is a requirement before you occupy any slip. If you are unsure please email me individually.

Pier Installation Progress - March 25 & 26, 2025

March 13, 2025 – First dock is in the water!

Week 1 Schedule Of New Pier Installation

      President Dave's Blog Update - March 10, 2025

      Greetings Slip Owners and Renters,

Work has now begun on our next phase of the rebuild. While the marina still has ice to contend with, the forecast is favorable for us to stay on schedule. The first 3 of approximately 16 semi loads of docks have started arriving at Belle Harbor today where final touches are being worked on. We anticipate being able to start floating the dock sections over beginning next week. We hope to have  all of the docks assembled and in place in 2-3 weeks. At that time, the utility work will begin with our targeted completion and occupancy being mid-May. We will be updating the website with our progress as well as email updates. I have included a few pictures of today’s activities.

      We are getting close!

March 10, 2025 – First NEW docks to arrive!

Week 1 Schedule Of New Pier Installation

        President Dave's Blog Update - March 7, 2025

        Good Afternoon All,
We now have a final extension on the use of Belle Harbor until April 18th. With that, here is the schedule for week 1 of installation. Currently the river is ice free with the exception of some where we will be dropping docks. The marina has small areas of open water but the forecast starting Sunday is very favorable. The first few days will be assembly on land only (uprights & miscellaneous). As header piers are delivered United Mechanical will be installing 21’ sections of 3” piping for the dry fire system. Ryan at TWR will evaluate the delivery schedule of the final 5-6 truckloads for week two. Assuming the ice is gone, week 2 and 3 will be the assembly on site.  I will send pictures when available.

Sunday March 9th-Equipment Set up (TWR Dock and Marine)
Monday March 10th - 3 Semi loads of finger piers and uprights
Wednesday March 12th - 4 Semi loads (2  loads finger pier and 2 loads of header docks)
Friday March 14th -  3 Semi loads (fingers, headers and spuds)

        President Dave's Blog Update - July 17, 2024

Hello fellow Lake Shore Towers Marina Boaters!

This past Wednesday, marina residents, Bernie Malkowksi & Sandra Chapman assisted a vessel in distress about 6 miles offshore outside of Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The Kenosha Fire Department reached out to pleasure craft in the area to assist. Bernie & Sandra aboard "Weekends at Bernie's" and the Captain of "Anger Management" both were willing to assist - making sure the people onboard the vessel in distress were safe and able to make it back safely!

Just thought you'd like to know about Bernie & Sandra's good deed on the water!

        President Dave's Blog Update - July 2024 - #2of2

        Good Morning All,

We have an upcoming Cross Connection Control Program inspection on July 31, 2024.

During the last inspection in 2022, the inspector found a number of connections that could possibly contaminate the public water distribution system. The marina received an inspection non-compliance notice at the time. The main issue is the use of y-valves attached to the back flow preventers (see photos following this blog post).

We are asking anyone using these valves please remove them as soon as possible. If you don’t believe you can get to the marina in the next week or so please let me know and I  will arrange to have it removed for you.

Any valves remaining as of July 30th will be removed. For those of you who feel that a y-valve is necessary , you can get a testable backflow preventer installed by a licensed plumber and it must be tested annually. I have more information on that if needed.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

        Regards,

        President Dave's Blog Update - July 2024 #1of2

To All Slip Owners and Renters,

As we get closer to the removal and demolition of the docks we have some important dates and reminders:

October 1st, 2024 - All boats must be out of Lakeshore Towers Marina. While we do not have an exact start date for the removal of the docks, there are many things that must be prepped prior to the contractor's arrival in mid to late October. All power and water will be turned off as copper wiring will be removed and salvaged. Dock boxes will need to be removed by temporary workers and stored. Anchor systems prepped for removal etc.

At this time, we have begun to cut up any remaining plastic dock boxes. If they are unlocked we are in the process of transferring  contents to the newer fiberglass ones. We are finding that much of the contents are no longer usable items. For those of you who are not currently using your slip, we ask If you have items in your dock box  that you stop down and remove as soon as possible.  Any work that we can complete prior to October is greatly appreciated and will help keep costs down. If you would like us to assist you with this or need a lock cut off, please contact me. Any items left after October 1st will be discarded at the owners expense. Reminder that if you want your current dock box back, we ask that you place something in the box with your name and slip #.

UPDATE (see MeecoSullivan Announcement to the left of this blog post):
As previously announced, the new docks have been ordered from MeecoSullivan.com and are currently in production for delivery as early as March 2025. While this will be a slightly different look and flotation system from our current docks, we feel that this was a superior system which will allow for a look and durability that will set us apart. TWR Dock and Marine has been selected to do the installation.  We are in the final stages of selecting fire, electrical and plumbing contractors.

Thank you to the owners and renters for their patience and cooperation with all the added activity of divers, contractors, drones and noise that this project brings.

        Regards,

President Dave's September 2023 BLOG post

        September 19, 2023

        Lakeshore Towers Marina Members,

We hope that you have all had a chance to check out the new website. If you have not, please take the time to check out the incredible job that Jean Peterson has done to create and expand the site. New items are being added regularly.  One important area of focus for us is to help promote the sale and rental of our members slips. History has shown us that many slips are sold after first being rented.  We will all benefit from keeping our marina as full as possible for years to come.  We feel that the new LST Marina docks will be a draw for boaters and an important part of the development and excitement surrounding recent improvements to the Racine lakefront. Your Board will also assist by budgeting marketing funds in 2024 to include banners, ads in magazines such as Real Racine and Lakeland Boating, all to draw attention to the benefits that we have to offer.

The website has begun to generate leads for information on renting or purchasing slips. If you are interested in renting or selling then we ask that you contact Jean Peterson (jeanopete@gmail.com) and give her the information you would like to display. Interested parties would then contact you directly.

If you have questions or need assistance on going rates feel free to contact any board member.

Thank You for Another Great Season!
